One
of the most appealing natural assets of Biyadoo is the island's
lush growth of majestically tall palm trees which appears
to have been on the island for centuries. A large growth
of other tropical plants including bananas, papayas, mango,
lime and guava add to the island's greenery and its tropical
beauty.
Essentially,
Biyadoo is another island which concentrates mostly on diving
- and rightly so, with the large number of excellent dive
sites within easy access. The dive centre in the island
is among the most modern and well-run in the country with
professional and experienced staff.
Fascinating
coral formulations densely populate the island's house
reef
making diving an extremely popular here too. It goes without
saying that snorkeling prospects are also excellent. The
island is accessible from the Male' International Airport
in 60 minutes by speedboat. A total of 96 rooms are on the
island, built in blocks of two storey buildings. Eating
on the island is enjoyable with good food served at all
meal times.
If you
are a diver you will find your niche on the island of Biyadoo,
and even if diving is not your favorite activity on earth,
you will find a lot to occupy yourself with on this large,
mature beauty of an island.
